The aim of the festival is to engage and ignite the community of Darwin-Garramilla about shorebirds through the arts and sciences.

We will share stories about the migrant birds that travel thousands of kilometres every year to visit Darwin-Garramilla beaches and wetlands.

As well as stories about the Bush Stone-curlew that cries at night - this is a shorebird that many people already have strong connections to; the Masked Lapwing known for chasing people to protect their nests and young, and many other shorebirds that are found in freshwater wetlands and grassy plains.

Come along and be part of the shorebird community - all welcome.
